Politics in Sports; The office of the DG, NSC “may” be scrapped

DG National Sports Commission, Alhassan Yakmut

There are strong indications that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has concluded plans to scrap the office of the Director General of the ministry.

Source at the ministry informed naijacombatcorner that the committee set up by the Permanent Secretary; Christian Ohaa to look into how to harmonize the operations of the ministry and those of the Sports Commission recommended that other directors be retained except the office of the Director General, currently occupied by Alhassan Yakmut.

According to the source, two options were made for Yakmut; either he gets posted to another ministry to complete his tenure or remain in the ministry as a director.

The position was said to have been based on the fact that the then National Sports Commission (NSC) never existed under any known Nigerian law.

Our source further revealed that the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung may have tactically started implementing the recommendations as the embattled Director General is said to be hardly put in the know of events in the ministry.

it will be recalled that athletes and officials who participated at the 2015 All Africa Games held in Congo, asked were the DG, National Sports Commission was.

Apparently it seems Yakmut is set to be sidelined by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung

I AM ONE OF NIGERIANS WHO HAS MADE IT UP TO BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL IN ONE OF NIGERIA SPORTS.
    YES,
THERE IS POLITICS IN NIGERIAN SPORTS. WHEN I WAS IN NIGERIA.THE POLITICS IS NOT ONLY IN NATIONAL BUT ALSO IN THE STATES AS FAR AS SPORTS IS CONCERN.THERE IS POLITICS BETWEEN ONE SPORT TO ANOTHER,WHEN PREPARING FOR ANY GAMES,OR ANY COMPETITION.IN THE KITCHEN WHERE THEY SERVE FOOD THERE IS POLITICS, BETWEEN ONE SPORT TO THE OTHER.IN THE AREA OF EQUIPMENT,THEY PLAY POLITICS IN NIGERIA,IN OFFICE THEY PLAY POLITICS TO CONSIDER THERE FAVOURITE SPORTS.IN EMPOLYMENT TO THE ATHLETES THEY PLAY POLITICS WITHOUT LOOKING THE PERFORMANCES
I AM SO SURE OF WHAT AM SAYING.IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS IN NIGERIA,MY NAME CAN NOT BE REMOVED.HOW MANY MEDALS I WON FOR MY STATE OGUN STATE, WHO CAN TELL ME HOW MANY TIMES I ANSWERED OGUN STATE NAME OUT OF OGUN STATE,TALK OF NATIONAL,WHEN YOU ARE IN NATIONAL CAMP,SOME SPORTS IS LIKE THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE OTHER SPORTS PREPARING TO GO OUT TO WIN FOR THE NATION.
BECAUSE OF ALL THESE KIND OF TREAMENTS,IT EVEN ENTERED INTO THE HEADS OF SOME ATHLETES,THEIR CHARACTERS TO THE OTHER ATHLETES AS IF THEY ARE NOT FROM THE SAME COUNTRY.ALL BECAUSE OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE CREATED CULTURE CALLED POLITICS IN NIGERIA.TALK OF SOME OF THOSE COMING HOME TO SERVE THEIR FATHER LAND.THOSE THAT ARE HOME, IS LIKE THEY ARE NOT NIGERIANS.
THIS CULTURE THAT HAS BEEN CREATED IN SPORTS IN NIGERIA,POLITICS, MUST BE REMOVED.IS NOT ONLY AFFECTING IN SPORTS BUT ALSO IN ALL AREA AS FAR AS NIGERIA IS CONSCERNED.
WHICH WAY NIGERIA,WHICH WAY WE GO
THERE IS REAL POLITICS IN NIGERIA SINCE MANY YEARS AGO UP TILL TODAY
,SHAME IS A BIG SICKNESS .
LET US TRY TO DO THINGS RIGHT
