Road to Rio; Nigeria Wrestler, Aminat Adeniyi seeks First Olympics apperance

2014 Commonwealth Gold medalist, Aminat Adeniyi (58Kg) said she plans to hoist Nigeria flag at the Rio 2016 Olympics scheduled for Brazil.

The Africa Olympic qualifications will take place in Algeria from March 30 to April 4, 2016.

The two times Africa Champion who is in Camp said preparations have started adding that she is training to defeat other Africa wrestlers in her category.

The Ondo born wrestler noted that she will try to maintain her top from and translate it into winning first at the Africa Championship in Egypt before moving to the Olympic qualifier.

She added that since a Nigerian (Odunayo Adekuoroye) has booked a spot in the Olympics other female wrestlers will be moved to join her in Brazil.

Aminat and Odun

Aminat said the atmosphere is charged as the President Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Daniel Igali is always giving them orientations, developing new skills and techniques as well as watching clips of other prominent wrestlers in the world.

Aminat urged Nigerians to pray for the wrestling team as it will go a long way in boosting their moral.

The ongoing camp in Bayelsa is been bankrolled by the President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Hon Daniel Igali.
