2016 Nigeria Police Games; Police athletes ready for showdown

Ahead of the Nigeria Police games billed for March 14th -27th, 2016, zones are carrying out screening to select athletes who will represent it at the Games.

One of such zone is the Force Headquarters that concluded its screening last Friday at the Police College Sports ground in Ikeja, Lagos.

The headquarters led by its Sports Chairman, Moses Jitoboh a Commissioner of Police has declared its readiness to carry the day at the March 14 through 26 Games slated for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Jitoboh also praised the welfare package put in place by IGP Solomon Arase as morale booster to Nigeria Police sportsmen and women.

He added that the IGP must be commended for his welfare package as a sign of motivation to Police Officers who engage in sporting activities.

He said with the introduction of such welfare package of IGP Arase the Nigeria Police is set to produce more talents that will do Nigeria proud in global sporting events.

Nigeria Police Force Sports Officer (FSO) Aliyu Abubakar an Assistant Commissioner of Police urged all Police athletes to be good ambassador of the Force by being a role model to other athletes in Nigeria.

ACP Abubakar the organising committee for the Games will put together an event that will be remembered for a long time in the history of Nigerian Sports.

The FSO corroborated CP Jitoboh in the efforts of IGP Arase to keep encouraging Police Sportsmen and women to continue to distinguished themselves in their chosen field.
