Africa Championship; Nigeria Greco Roman Wrestler to battle on Friday in Egypt

Nigeria’s Greco Roman Wrestler, Emmanuel Nworie (66kg) will on Friday (4th March, 2016) begins his quest to win a medal at the Africa championships.

It will be recalled that at the 2015 All Africa Games held in Congo, Emmanuel Nworie won a Gold medal for Nigeria after 20 years of absence on the podium.

Nworie in Egypt urged Nigerians to pray for him as he plans to win a gold medal for the nation.

Nworie’s coach, Tiebiri Godswill in 1996 attended the Africa Championship were he qualified for 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States.

Also speaking, Igali said Emmanuel Nworie remains the nation’s champion and needs the support of the country to be able to excel.

Nworie is the only Nigeria Greco Roman wrestlers as Abraham Onyemelusi and Joe Agbaravanbare were dropped due to the non availability of funds.
