Some Nigeria Veteran Judokas have expressed grievances over the comment credited to the President, Nigeria Judo Federation, Prince Timothy Nsirim about performing Judokas.
They alleged that Nsirim on 92.3 Nigeria Info Fm, said Nigeria Judokas were already expired and not hungry for international tournament.
Comrade Olatunji Ogidan frowned at the statement made by Nsirim advising him to restrain from discouraging the performing athletes.
Ogidan quoted Nsirim as saying; “we cannot go to Olympics because, I have expired judokas athletes who are not baked for international competitions”.
Ogidan said for the best to be brought out of the sport Judo, experienced and interested individuals needs be carried along.
He said “whose fault is it when sycophants takes the stage and undermine grassroots coaches”.
Also speaking, Oluwasegun Gbayi advised the Chairman not to heat up the polity of the federation as such comment could discourage athletes adding that Prince Timothy Nsirim needs to use his available resources to move the federation forward.
Olawale Akala called for calm amongst the veteran stating that the days of the present administration is numbered.
It will be recalled that at the 2015 All Africa Games, Three (3) female Judokas won bronze medal for the country.
