Male Rugby Debuts, as female demonstrate at the 2016 Police Games

History was once again made in the beautiful game of Rugby in Nigeria as it was being featured as a medal winning (Scoring) event at the 11th Biannual Police Games ongoing at the Abuja National Stadium.

Rugby feature 2 Medals with the Seven’s & Ten’s Event for the male while the Female version featured as a demonstration event.

The Rugby Event was celebrated with the presence of the DIG  Jubril O. Adeniji mni, who graced the Finals of the Ten’s Event & Women Rugby Demonstration Event at the Cricket Bowl of the Abuja National Stadium

The Force HeadQuarters won the Gold Medal in a highly thrilling encounter against Zone 2 who had earlier defeated the FHQ in the Seven’s event to win the first Gold Medal of the Police Games.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Police Rugby Association SP Gabriel Alobo was full of appreciation to the DIG Jubril Adeniji mni for taking a keen interest in the newest sport in the Police Games.

He also presented the DIG with a souvenir Rugby Ball in compliment of his kind gesture.

He showered encomium on “Mr Rugby” Ntiense Williams, whom the Police had specially invited to organise the event alongside the Police National Team Coach Mr Micheal Johnson & Mrs Eunice the Officer In-Charge.

The Women Rugby event drew so much excitement and spectatorship as more sportswomen trooped in from their other events to be a part of history.
