Team Nigeria female wrestling Captain, Blessing Oborududu (63Kg) said her plans is to appearance at the Olympics for the 2nd time in her wrestling career.
The Olympic qualifiers event is scheduled for April 1st to April 4 in Algiers, Algeria.
According to Oborududu, the aim of any elite athlete is to feature at the Olympics which is the zenith of a sporting era.
The Seven times Africa Champion in a chat with naijacombatcorner, attributed her victory at the 2016 Africa Championship to hard work and dedication.
She added that Odunayo Adekuoroye will not be the only representative at the Olympics as other wrestlers are motivated by her qualification stressing that the team is mentally stable .
“We are hungry to represent Nigeria and I’m optimistic that the sky is our limit”, Oborududu said.
She noted that the various wrestler have what is takes to be at the Olympics.
It will be recalled that at London 2012, Oborududu lost in the round of 16 to polish wrestler Monika Michalik.
In London 2012, wrestlers who represented Nigeria at the Olympics was; Andrew Dick, Sinivie Boltic, Amarachi Obiajunwa.
