The Kick-boxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN) is set to organize a national open championship which serves as trials for athletes ahead of the Africa Championship in Madagascar.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General KBFN, Paul Okocha said that the national open championship is scheduled for 17th to 22nd May, 2016 in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Okocha said the championship is opened to both states and clubs across the federation.
He said the program is geared towards preparing athletes and officials in readiness for the Africa Championship coming up soon.
The statement stated that participating states and clubs are responsible for their teams’ accommodation and feeding.
It added that athletes’ participation will give them the opportunity to be part of the National team to the Africa Championship in Madagascar.
