Road to Rio: Oborududu leads Six other Nigeria Wrestlers to the Olympics

Nigeria Wrestlers emerged best team after winning 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze at the just concluded Africa/Oceania Olympics qualifying tournament in Algiers.

Six Nigerian wrestlers consisting of four (4) female and two (2) male after entering into the finals of the qualifiers will represent the country at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games

This implies that seven (7) wrestlers will be in Rio after Odunayo Adekuoroye earlier sealed a slot for country at the 2015 World Wrestling Championship held in Las Vegas, USA.

Four Nigeria wrestlers won Gold, All Africa Games Gold medalist, Mercy Genesis (48Kg), 2014 Commonwealth Bronze medalist, Hannah Reuben (69Kg), Africa Champion, Amas Daniel (65Kg) and Soso Tamara (97Kg).

Seven (7) times Africa Champion, Blessing Oborududu and 2014 Commonwealth Gold medalist, Aminat Adeniyi (58Kg) won Silver medals.

Meanwhile, 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist; Melvin Bibo (74Kg) and Africa silver medalist, Blessing Onyebuchi won bronze medals apiece but will miss the trip to Rio.
