Road to Rio; Female Officer to Wrestle at the Olympics


Joyful Hannah Reuben

Nigeria Army officer, Hannah Reuben will be part of the seven wrestlers who will represent the country at the 2016 Rio Olympics after sealing a spot at the just concluded Africa-Oceanic Olympics qualifier in Algeria.

Hannah Reuben is a private soldier of 81 Division Physical Training Group.

The private solider was at her best form as she won Nigeria a Gold medal in the 69 weight category as well as qualifying for the games.

Hannah after missing out of the 2016 Africa Championship which took place in Alexandra, Egypt due to reasons took charge of all her bouts.

It is worthy to note that after joining the Nigeria army since 2014, the poacher has never failed to win a medal for the country and the Wrestling federation.

Hannah is a 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist, 2015 All Africa silver medalist and national champion in her category.
