The second ISSF World Cup stage of the 2016 season is about to start in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), where the Games of the XXXI Olympiad will take place in four months.
The competition will also serve as a test event for the Olympic Shooting Centre located inside the Deodoro Park, one of the three clusters that will host the 28 Olympic sports from the 5th– 21st August.
661 athletes will participate in the World Cup stage, representing 88 different countries from all over the world, and piling up almost a thousand starts.
The range, opened in 2007, already hosted the Shooting events of the 2007 Pan-American Games, as well as an ISSF World Cup stage in Rifle/Pistol events in 2008.
The first final of the competition is scheduled for Saturday 16th, when the 10m Air Rifle Women event will crown its Gold medallist, followed by the Trap Women and the 10m Air Pistol Men events.
At least one final will take place every day, until the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men and the Skeet Men events will close the competition on Sunday, April 24th.
