The Jigawa Government said it would complete the two abandoned Township Stadium projects in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim said this in Dutse.
Ibrahim said that the government would do everything possible to engage youths in sports to discourage them from drug abuse and other vices.
He said the present administration is willing to support youths, especially in sporting activities, but that will not be possible without stadia and other sports facilities.
He noted that organizing sporting tournaments would also take many of the youths off the streets and engage them productively.
The commissioner added that such tournaments would help raise a pool of responsible young athletes.
The contract for the construction of the two township stadia in Dutse and Kazaure, was awarded by the immediate past administration at the cost of N500 million.
