PWA African title; Power Lee set to present belt to sports minister and governor Okowa

After defending his title last weekend, PWA Africa heavyweight champion, Godspower Ikpide aka Power Lee of Nigeria is set to present his title to the minister of sport, Solomon Dalung and Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

The secretary Pro Wrestling Africa, Olukoya Olusesan disclosed this after the successful defense of the Africa heavyweight title by Power Lee.

Olusesan said the body language of the sports minister shows he is interested in the development of other sports aside football.

He added that Power Lee will be accompanied by top officials of Pro Wrestling Africa.

He commended Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta state governor for providing a conducive environment for the event promising not to let the state and the country at large down.

Power Lee De Great successfully defended his PWA African heavyweight title at the Asaba Township Stadium, Asaba in Delta State against the Angolan Marvelous Buffalo who was ready to cart away the heavyweight Pro Wrestling title belt currently in possession of Power Lee De Great.

It took Power Lee fifteen minutes to take control of the bout, as, he slammed Buffalo twice before going for a pin fall and be declared winner of the fight , marking the first successful defence of the belt since he snatched it from Cameroonian Michel Noudem in September last year.

In the other supporting fights of the night, Zion Lion and Flying Dan Ko ended their encounter in a draw while Young Power Mike defeated his more muscular opponent Eagle de Great Nail.

Ghana based Nigerian wrestler Ultimate Power and Young Stamina were disqualified after being counted out by the referee for taking the fight outside the ring just as Mighty Man defeated USA Bing of DR Congo while Mr. Sharpman who was equally matched to the wrestling tactics and gimmicks of Wolf NDA 98 lost to wolf after twenty minutes of fierce bout in a contest that kept the fans on their toes.
