Kogi state government to upgrade sporting facilities in Schools

In a bid to promote sports in schools, the Kogi state government will embark on the upgrade of sports facilities across the state.

The Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Education, Dr Tolorunleke Sunday gave the hint at the ongoing 18th Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball Championships in Lokoja.

Dr Tolorunleke reiterated the present administration’s commitment to develop unity, integration and togetherness through promotion of school sports in the state.

He said inter house sports event in the state will be revived adding that it is the only way to reduce social vices in the state.

He appreciated Governor Bello for his timely intervention for the state to host the Championships with the provision of necessary logistics.

He said under his watch at the ministry of education, sports will be encouraged with the aim of identifying hidden talents.

He assured that the present administration will continue to develop all sectors including education through sports with provision and upgrading sports facilities in schools across the state.
