BREAKING: Nigeria Weightlifter, Tanimowo wins GOLD at AAU Championship

2015 All Africa Games silver medalist, Rasaq Tanimowo (56Kg) yet again gave a good account of himself by winning a gold medal at the 2016 AAU  Hi-Temp National weightlifting and powerlifting held last week in Casablanca Resort, Nevada, USA.

Naijacombatcorner recalls that Tanimowo was self sponsored to the 2016 AAU North American Power lifting, Bench, Deadlift, Push/Pull and Strict Curl Championship where he won a gold medal last April.

Tanimowo who lifts for West coast weightlifting club has an automatic invitation to the world international championship in September.

The Asaba based lifter failed to participate at the Olympics championship held in Yaounde, Cameroon after the male team were technically knocked out of the race through the refusal of the ministry to release funds to Nigeria weightlifting Federation.

It will be recalled that Tanimowo won a gold medal at the 2011 Commonwealth Junior Weightlifting Championship.

He also placed sixth (6th) at the 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland.
