The Minister of Interior, Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau in Abuja said the re-packaged Nigerian Para-Military Games will hold in October.
Dambazau made this known when he presented medals to athletes of the ministry who won honours at the 2015 Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA).
The minister reiterated the ministry’s resolve to organise a comprehensive and a holistic Ministry of Interior annual competition involving all sportsmen and women in the ministry and the Services.
He pledged to resuscitate the annual Nigerian Para-Military Games adding that it is a way of fostering unity and enhancing service delivery in the Interior Ministry.
The minister commended “Team Interior” for winning laurels at the FEPSGA held at Imo in 2015 and coming out as the most disciplined team at the competition.
He said as part of efforts to foster unity, mental alertness, and understanding as well as enhance productivity in the ministry, the annual para-military games would be brought back to life this year.
He stressed the importance of sports to the health and productivity of civil servants.
