2016 Rio Olympics; Szandra only Ghanaian Judoka going to Rio

Hungarian-born Ghanaian, Szandra Szogedi will be the only Judokas to partake at the 2016 Olympic Games.

She will be taking part in the 63kg category for women.

She got her slot in the Olympic Games at the Almaty Judo Grand Prix event in Kazakhstan where she clocked 444 points.

In the 2015 African Judo Championships in Gabon, she won a medal bronze and she was awarded a Rio 2016 scholarship by the Ghana Olympic Committee to help her get ready for the Games.

It will be recalled that The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), announced a 16-member contingent to represent Ghana at Rio 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Rio, Brazil, from 5th 21st August.
