Veteran sport journalist, Kayode Tijani has berated the minister of youth and sport, Solomon Dalung for his choice of over the foreign tour earlier scheduled for qualified team Nigeria athletes.
The sport minister in a meeting with stakeholders said Nigeria athletes should make do of the facilities and equipments in the country.
A bitter Tijani while reacting to the statement on his twitter handle said the sports minister may not have deep knowledge of Sports but he can have experts in the field guiding him stressing that he is too sure that Dalung does not.
He said watching the minister talk about Rio 2016 Nigerian preparations on national television, he feels like crying, lamenting that, why do they put people like him in Sports?
He added that it is tragic for such words to proceed out of the mouth of an administrator.
Here are some of his tweets; RIO 2016: @MBuhari obviously has no single interest or plans for Sports then just tell us all that we should just not attend these events.
@MBuhari PLEASE why did you dump @SolomonDalung in Sports when you know he has no single background in Sports, why did you do this to us???
A sports minister may not have deep knowledge of Sports but he can have experts in the field guiding him, too sure @SolomonDalung does not.
@SolomonDalung INSISTS Nigerian Athletes do not need to prepare outside Nigeria for the Olympics? Feel like CRYING right now, TRAGIC!
Lots of times Nigerian Sports Ministers are those who know little about Sports and want to “Learn” on the job and are sacked in the process
The huge challenge is @SolomonDalung does not believe he does not know enough of Sports to seek advice, he confronts criticism with fire
