The National Paralympic Committee of Germany (NPC) has named its delegation that will travel to Rio de Janeiro for the Paralympic Games.
They have selected 148 athletes who will compete in 18 sports at Rio 2016.
A notable member of the squad is London 2012 T44 men’s long jump winner Markus Rehm.
The 27-year-old made history at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, when he jumped a new world record of 8.40 metres.
In the process, he became the only Para-athlete to break the eight metre barrier, with German hopeful of being able to compete alongside able-bodied athletes at the Olympic Games.
However, he was unable to convince officials that his bladed leg would not give him an advantage.
Other champions defending their crown are the women’s wheelchair basketball team with over half of the team still intact from London 2012.
