Four sparring partners of team Nigeria wrestlers on Thursday arrived Rio de Jenerio the venue of the 2016 Olympics.
The wrestlers that departed Nigeria on Tuesday night are; Melvin Bobo (All Africa games gold medalist), Wariebi Hudson, Bisola Makanjuola (National Champion) and Ifeoma Nwoye (Commonwealth Gold medalist).
The President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Hon Daniel Igali said the arrival of their training partners has taken off the coaches’ load and allows for the athletes to focus on familiarity and trust.
He however noted that the distraction of not allowing the training partners travel with the team was unhealthy for the common goal of Team Nigeria.
He also expressed his delight despite the delay in allowing the sparring partners to arrive Rio with the wrestlers earlier.
Igali assured Nigerians that his wrestlers would give their best to ensure a good performance that everybody would be happy with.
