National Sports Festival: Sport facilities to be ready before November-Okang

The Cross River State Commissioner For Youths and Sports Development, Comrade Asu Okang said approvals have been given to other contractors to be mobilized to site for speedy completion of the various facilities.

Okang stated this during a readiness assessment inspection of sport facilities by Governor Professor Benedict Ayade in Calabar.

The commissioner for sports while giving the governor assessment of work done so far assured that before the start of the games, facilities will be put in place for usage.

He added that contractors have been mobilized to site where speedy completion of the various facilities is ongoing.

Okang noted that It should be known that the successful hosting of this National Sports Festival In Calabar is going to be a key mile stone in this administration and heralds a new dimension of Sports development in the state.

Present at the inspection tour were other heads of sport regimes, some commissioners and other appointees amongst others.

It will be recalled that on the 10th June, 2016, the  Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung inaugurated the Main Organising Committee (MOC) for the 19th edition of the National Sports Festival (NSF) holding in Calabar, Cross River State.

The National Sports Festival is scheduled for 8-21st November, 2016 after suffered several postponements.

    It is a great relief to finally see that the deal day for the festival is fist after a long time postponement which was almost discouraging many athletes for 4years plus And I hope this new date will stand to hold this time The hope of the athletes depends on it false hope and readjustment of date this time will totally kill the faith of the athletes in the committee and hope for the game of sports in Nigeria
