The ministry of youth and sports during the week defended the sum of N75.47 billion before the House of Representatives Committees on Sports and Youth Development
The minister of youth and sports, Solomon Dalung in Abuja defended the N75.47 billion budgeted for the ministry.
Defending the ministry’s budget, he said that N75. 47 billion was budgeted for the ministry, which is made up of N70. 8 billion for recurrent and N4. 66 million for capital expenditures.
Dalung said that N75 billion of the budget covered the fiscal allocations of the main ministry and those of parastatal agencies under it.
He listed the agencies as; Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigeria Institute of Sports (NIS).
Dalung said that the ministry planned to spend N68. 8 Billion on NYSC and N1. 8 billion on sports.
