Head coach Anambra State Wrestling Association, Emeka Obidinma has dedicated medals won by the indigene of the state at the just Concluded Africa Wrestling Championship to the Governor, Chief Willie Maduabuchukwu Obiano for his supportive roles in sports development.

Anambra Duo Rosemary Nweke (48kg) and Nwoye Ifeoma (58kg) both won silver in their separate weight categories at the 2016 Africa Senior Wrestling Championship held in Egypt, Alexandra.

Naijacombatcorner recalls that Nwoye Ifeoma is the first (1st) Nigerian to win a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

According to Obidinma, the governor, through the Permanent Secretary ministry of Youth, entrepreneur and sport development, Emma Ude Akpe made sports one of the state’s top priorities.

He lauded Ude Akpe for the role played in ensuring the wrestlers participated at both national and international tournaments.

He promised to repay his beloved state with more laurels adding that combatant sports at the 19th National Sports Festival will rule the country.

Emeka Obidinma was part of the six officials who guided the Nigeria Wrestling Federation to a victorious feat in Egypt.
